Friendship Across Borders: Kingsford welcomes Shijiazhuang Foreign Language school
On 6th February, Kingsford Community School welcomed 21 pupils and three teachers from our sister school, Shijiazhuang Foreign Language School in China, as part of our international integration programme. The day was a real celebration of our pupils' hospitality, warmth, and kind-heartedness, as they eagerly embraced the chance to connect with new peers from a different culture.
Each exchange pupil was paired with a Kingsford buddy, shadowing them throughout the school day to fully immerse themselves in the learning experience. This not only provided our visitors with a first-hand look at life at Kingsford but also fostered meaningful cultural exchanges and friendships.
The day began with a fun ‘Human Bingo’ icebreaker, where pupils found common interests and got to know each other. This engaging start set the tone for a warm and welcoming day of learning.
After a full day of learning, all pupils joined in a fun dumpling-making session to celebrate Lunar New Year. The hands-on activity brought Kingsford and Shijiazhuang pupils together to share in a beloved tradition. Once the dumplings were boiled and served, they were so tasty that they were gone in a flash!
Although the visit lasted only one day, the friendships formed will endure. As the visit came to a close, heartfelt goodbyes, warm exchanges, and shared contact details marked the end of a truly memorable experience.
This successful visit marks just the beginning of a lasting partnership between our schools, strengthening our shared commitment to global learning and cultural exchange.
