Kingsford Community School Celebrates Outstanding Review in 2024 Challenge Partners QA Assessment
Kingsford Community School is delighted to announce that we have received an exceptional review in the 2024 Challenge Partners Quality Assurance (QA) assessment, led by an HMI Ofsted Inspector. The review commended Kingsford’s leading performance across all areas, highlighting our commitment to providing the highest standard of education and support for every pupil. The school’s strengths and efforts in continuous improvement were particularly praised.
A key highlight of this year’s assessment was our “broad and highly ambitious” curriculum, which was recognised for laying the foundation of a “holistic educational experience.” This curriculum fosters well-rounded individuals, equipping them with transferable skills that prepare them for success both in school and beyond.
The review also praised our commitment to celebrating and nurturing the diverse talents of all pupils. The focus on rewards, praise, and meeting the individual needs and interests of each pupil is highlighted as a core strength. The report stated, “The school’s focus on teaching and learning is relentless,” and noted that pupil results improved by nearly half a grade on average between 2023 and 2024. One reviewer commented, “Teachers have strong subject knowledge, building in reflection time to elicit deeper thinking.”
We are especially proud of how we prepare our pupils for life beyond school. The report highlighted Kingsford’s internal provisions and strong external partnerships, which provide a wide range of opportunities to help pupils develop the skills and experiences needed for a successful future. “The opportunities provided for pupils to succeed beyond school are exceptional,” the review noted.
Kingsford pupils were also celebrated for their exemplary behaviour, both in and outside the classroom. The review stated, “Pupils demonstrate exemplary behaviour… They are immensely proud of their school.” This pride and mutual respect are central to the Kingsford ethos. As one pupil shared, “We are fully equal at Kingsford,” reflecting the family-like environment we foster.
Our commitment to care and wellbeing was also recognised, with the review emphasising that “Kingsford is a caring, family learning community with wellbeing given high priority.”
Headteacher Joan Deslandes OBE expressed her pride in the recognition, stating:
“We are incredibly proud of the recognition we’ve received in this year’s review. It reflects the dedication and hard work of our staff, pupils, and governors. At Kingsford, we are committed to creating an environment where every pupil can thrive and feel supported in their personal and academic journey. This review reinforces our belief that education is about more than just academic success – it’s about preparing our pupils to be well-rounded individuals who are ready to make a positive impact in the world.”
With these outstanding results, we are excited to continue building on this success and enhancing the educational experience for all our pupils. Kingsford Community School remains committed to empowering pupils to reach their full potential and thrive, both personally and academically. We look forward to continuing to support your child every step of the way.
