Kingsford pupils impress in international celebration at Houses of Parliament
On Monday 20th March, Kingsford pupils impressed leaders in education at an exclusive ceremony in the Houses of Parliament. They had been invited to the British Council's International School Award ceremony, together with our Head Teacher, about the real and transformative impact that an international education has on young people.
Our Head Teacher, Ms Joan Deslandes, spoke of the pioneering work undertaken to offer unique experiences for our pupils at Kingsford, and the life-changing impact it has had on many young people in Newham.
The children were true ambassadors of Kingsford Community School and its values. They also gave first hand example of how important and crucial the work of schools and teachers is in opening the minds and the vision to the world of young people. They should be proud!

Our wonderful pupil leaders then testified to that impact by speaking of their international experiences and achievements.
Each pupil spoke for a minute each in front of a large group of education professionals, government officials, and members of the British Council team, including the CEO of the British Council, Scott McDonald.
They introduced themselves in another language, then spoke about internationalism and what it is like to be part of an International School. The pupils were also delighted to meet our local MP for East Ham, Mr Stephen Timms.
Congratulations to our pupils:
