Kingsford Community School celebrates outstanding GCSE results and fully funded top scholarships for its pupils

Kingsford Community School is thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievements of class of 2024. On this Results Day, we celebrate their many years of hard work, resilience, and determination, which have paid off with excellent GCSE results that our pupils should be proud of.

Kingsford's international offer showed remarkable strength, with our Mandarin program excelling as 82.1% of pupils achieved top grades (9-7), outperforming even the independent sector and ranking among the best in the country. In STEM, Computing stood out with 32.8% of pupils earning high marks, highlighting Kingsford's dedication to preparing pupils for the digital future. Creative Arts flourished, particularly in Music, where 40% of pupils secured top grades. Core subjects such as English, Literature, and Mathematics also delivered impressive results with high pass rates.

The achievements of the Kingsford’s class of 2024 are particularly remarkable, given the unprecedented socio-economic challenges they have faced on their educational journey, including the lasting impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on learning resources, mental health, and pupil well-being. Despite these obstacles, Kingsford’s pupils have triumphantly overcome adversity, inspiring our entire school community to continue aspiring for success and excellence.

This success is further highlighted by Kingsford being recognised as one of the top 10 schools in the prestigious World’s Best School Prize. These outstanding achievements will open new doors and expand the horizons of the young people now leaving Kingsford.

We would also like to commend the truly remarkable achievement of Daniella Tanasiychuk, an exceptional Year 11 pupil who earned a perfect score of 9 in every one of her GCSE subjects. This is an extraordinary accomplishment. Daniella also served as an outstanding Head Girl, and her dedication and hard work have earned her a fully funded bursary to attend Wellington College, one of the top independent schools in the world.

Daniella says, "I received Grade 9 in all of my subjects. I am so thankful to Kingsford for providing me with an outstanding education that enabled me to achieve these excellent grades. As Head Girl, Kingsford has given me the opportunity to grow and access so many opportunities, including the Scholarship Aspirations Programme. My career aspiration is to become a lawyer, and I’m very pleased to have met the entry requirements to board at Wellington College, where I will be reading English Literature, Politics, and Economics. Thank you, Kingsford!"

Daniella T, Asfi A, and Stefan B have received full scholarships to board at Wellington College, one of the top independent schools globally. The school has previously won accolades such as “the most forward-thinking school in the UK”, and the “Best Senior School in Britain.”

Additionally, Nika R, Alassane D, Fadimo F, and Parisa C will now go on to join fellow Kingsford alumni already having a positive impact at University College School (UCS) in Hampstead, a top 20 UK day school. Joan Deslandes, Head Teacher, states: “I am incredibly proud of our pupils for achieving such excellent results. Their success is a testament to their determination and focus. It’s heartening to see that Kingsford’s ethos of Aspiration, Success, and Excellence continues to have a transformative impact on young lives in Newham. Our school is dedicated to helping pupils excel and preparing them for future success as global citizens. I extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated pupils, staff, parents, and governors for their unwavering support. Congratulations to every member of our Year 11 cohort, and I look forward to celebrating their future achievements.”
