International school leaders from Middle East and North Africa bowled over by the Kingsford learning experience
On Wednesday 24th January, Kingsford Community School was delighted to host 60 Head Teachers and educational leaders from the Middle East and North Africa.
They joined us as part of a week-long study tour across the UK called "Enriching Your Curriculum" coordinated by the British Council. The delegates travelled to the UK to gather insights on the best ways to enhance the learning of the children in the schools they lead. As a close partner of the British Council, and proud holders of the International School Award, we were pleased to share how our diverse, tailored and uniquely international curriculum has a transformational impact on our pupils' lives and their aspirational futures.
All those who attended were thoroughly impressed with the unique experience they encountered here at Kingsford. They were particularly impressed by the warm international welcome offered by our global ambassadors, and many of them were delighted to be greeted in their own home languages!
Our outgoing Head Girl Daniela T proudly shared with the delegates: "Kingsford Community School takes international learning extremely seriously. The fact that we have been awarded the International School Award is something that I take great pride in. Studying another language like Mandarin not only builds character but also opens so many doors, and so many opportunities for me in the future. It's also allowed me to earn a fully paid scholarship to Wellington College. I believe that being a global ambassador and studying on a global scale, learning about other cultures, it really does help you prepare to be an amazing future global citizen."
Kathleen O'Hare, Programme Director at the British Council, shared some wonderful feedback:
"Having completed the initial evaluation of the UK Study Tour from the MENA Region, the visit to Kingsford Community School ranked as the most memorable and thought provoking from the entire group. The delegates pointed to the fabulous systems in place in Kingsford as well as the energy and commitment from the staff they encountered."
We are proud to be seen as a beacon of excellence in education across the world, and to have opportunities like this to share best practice with international partners. We are sure that those who attended were encouraged and inspired by what they saw, and that the unique Kingsford learning experience will continue to have a positive impact well beyond the walls of our school here in Beckton, London.
