Partnership is crucial to all that Kingsford Community School is and achieves. The learning experience at Kingsford is greatly enriched by valued partners both inside and outside the school community. Within the school, pupils, parents, staff and governors all work together effectively to secure the best possible outcomes for our young people. The school also works hard to seek and maintain effective partnerships with external organisations that contribute to ensuring our pupils’ success at GCSE and beyond.

Kingsford Community School enjoys a special relationship with a number of top independent schools, and our Head Teacher has been instrumental in allowing state and independent schools to learn and benefit from one another through the 100 Group, and her membership of the DfE Independent State Schools Partnership (ISSP) Forum.  This partnership with the private sector has culminated in the London Academy of Excellence, a pioneering sixth-form in Newham with the aim of getting the capital’s poorest and brightest young people into top universities.

Kingsford’s Scholarship Aspirations Programme (SAP) works to support its most talented and able pupils from challenging backgrounds in applying for fully-funded bursaries to study at top independent colleges, both day and boarding schools. In recent years graduates from the SAP programme have benefited from and enriched the learning communities of prestigious institutions such as Brighton College, Eton College, Wellington College, and University College School Hampstead, as well as many others across the UK. The list of independent colleges in partnership with Kingsford through the SAP programme continues to go from strength to strength.

Pupils can also take part in the Academy Achievers programme, which aims to raise pupils’ career aspirations with visits to top global companies such as Ciena.
